Wageningen Food and Biobased Research aims to develop a novel methodology formaximizing biological degradation of one of the most challenging compounds to date, namely per fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Our Expertise Groups have experience with the use and industrial application of adaptive laboratory evolution and sensitive monitoring ofvery specific molecules.
PFASisused for a very diverse set of applications thanks to its many beneficial properties. A major drawback of thisclass of substancesis that their inherent high stability makesthem very resistant to any type of degradation.
